At Ticketyo we charge a 7% commission on sales. If a ticket price is 10,000/= the organiser earns 9,300/= and Ticketyo earns 700/=

Common Questions

How do I receive my ticket after paying?

Simply find event, select your tickets and complete payment. Once your payment via Mobile Money or card is confirmed, your ticket is generated instantly and you will receive it via:

Email: A digital copy (PDF) is sent to your registered address.
WhatsApp/SMS: A confirmation link or QR code is sent to your phone.
User Dashboard: You can log in to Ticketyo to view all your active tickets.

Do I need to print my ticket?

No. Ticketyo is designed for a paperless experience. You can simply present the QR code on your smartphone at the gate for scanning. However, you can still print out a clear copy of the ticket and present it at the gate for check-in.

What happens if I don't receive my ticket?

First, check your email’s spam or promotions folder. If it’s not there, you can log in to your Ticketyo account to download it or contact Ticketyo Support with your transaction ID for assistance.

Can I get a refund if I can't attend?

Ticketyo acts as the platform for the organizer. Refunds are generally subject to the Event Organizer’s specific policy. If an event is cancelled, Ticketyo coordinates with the organizer to facilitate the refund process, minus any non-refundable processing fees.

How long does it take to set up an event?

You can go live in minutes. The dashboard is a self service tool where you enter your event details, upload a poster, set your ticket tiers (Early Bird, VIP, etc.) and start selling immediately.

How do I handle attendees who don't have smartphones or internet?

How do I verify tickets at the gate?

You can use the Ticketyo Scanning App (available for Android/iOS). It allows you or your agents to scan QR codes quickly. The app works offline once the guest list is synced, ensuring entry continues even if the venue’s internet is unstable.

When and how do I get paid?

Payouts are typically processed immediately after the event concludes. Funds can be transferred directly to your Bank Account or Mobile Money wallet. For larger events, partial mid sale payouts can sometimes be arranged.

How much does Ticketyo charge?

No. Ticketyo operates on a “Pay as you Earn” model. We charge the organiser a 7% commission per ticket sold. If your event is free, using the platform for registration is generally free of charge.

How does Ticketyo prevent fake tickets?

Every ticket features a unique, encrypted QR code that can only be scanned once. Once a ticket is checked in at the gate, the system marks it as “Used,” making it impossible for duplicates to gain entry.

Does Ticketyo deduct taxes from the organiser?

No. Ticketyo is NOT a department of URA and neither is Ticketyo an entertainment tax consultant however, we can provide tax estimates for organisers to avoid being over charged by URA.
